Tasting Smarties can enhance a writers poetic mastery
Comedy Rhyme' by Steve (Updated 10th November 2009)
Welcome to the world of a Mad Mad Merseyside poet. My goal as a writer, is to take the craft of poetry to whole new depths. I am often astounded by the complex formats and hidden meanings frequently portrayed within poetry. Many are so deep and meaningless, that they can only be understood by the poet at the time of writing. In other words, they are merely a personal expression of an emotion or feeling which is then heavily wrapped and disguised in wordplay. All of my poetry on this site is written and owned by me, by copyright. Poems may be used by consent and by writing to me at this site.

I believe that if poetry is to gain popularity, it has to be understood by a mass audience. If poetry is being written for the personal entertainment of the
author, then that's fine - Just don't publish it. If, on the other hand, a poet targets his/her poetry at fellow poets for accolade or acceptance, then that is also fine - But as you're writing
for your peers it may not be understood by people who just love to read poems. I prefer to write poetry for everyone. My poetry analyses everyday life and people. The mannerisms and
traits of the human being provide a wealth of fuel for laughter and levity.
Two of my poems have recently been included as performance items for part of the 'National Year of Reading' . They were performed by the 'Formby Youth Theatre' in a performance poetry session . The purpose of the event was to encourage young people in the area to take an active interest in poetry. A very worthy cause. The event also included works of the famous Mersey Sound Poets Roger McGough, Brian Patten, and Adrian Henri . www.sefton.gov.uk/Default.aspx?page=5578
Welcome to my site. I intend to update the poetry on a regular basis for your entertainment. I hope that you find something to your taste.
Best Wishes
